What is the electoral register?

The electoral register otherwise known as electoral role or electoral roll is a vast database that contains every name and address of everybody in the UK that is alive and over the age of 18.

How is it useful for me?

This database is particularly valuable in searches for fathers or sons directly, because their names will not change, or mothers and daughters following a marriage search as their new marital names can be searched for.

Minimum information needed for results

Last name

Results show the following data

Full name including middle initials

Full address including postcode

Marital status i.e. Mr Mrs Miss Ms

On request, other occupants, neighbours

Data available

As shown above for the years 1992-2007

Other electoral register information

The full version of the electoral register can only used by 2 UK organisations, the police and credit reference agencies. ALL other organisations in the UK such as ours and ALL other websites are only permitted to offer searches of the 'Edited' electoral register. This contains all but those that have 'opted out' as is permitted by law. This data is chargeable. Please view current 'Terms' for upgrade fee.
